Nan Busse, BA, MFA
Educational Therapist and Interactive Metronome Provider
Nan got her certificate in Educational Therapy at Holy Names University in 1999 and worked as an educational therapist at the Raskob Learning institute before coming to Oakland RiteCare® Childhood Language Center in 2002. She enjoys working with children and youth of all ages, but especially pre-teens and teens, on language arts, math and science skills.
Nan is a certified provider of Fast ForWord, Interactive Metronome and The Listening Program.
Nan has a background in studio and theater arts, completing an MFA at UC Irvine in 1981. Nan continues her work as a performance artist dancing with several Bay Area choreographers and creating her own choreography.
Nan enjoys taking her therapy dogs to shut-ins and nursing home residents and she has a prodigious vegetable garden.
Pam Norton, PhD, CCC-SLP
Pam graduated from San Francisco State University in 1993 with a Master's in Communicative Disorders. She completed her doctorate in Special Education from UC Berkeley in 2008. She has worked at the Oakland Scottish RiteCare® Childhood Language Center since 1995, providing speech, language and learning services to children and young adults. She has been director at Oakland Scottish Rite since 2011. She is a certified Fast ForWord and The Listening Program provider.
Pam's special interests are expressive language in very young children and multicultural issues, including dialectal variation, second language learners, and international adoptees.
Pam enjoys reading all kinds of books, writing, dancing, cooking, and indie films.
